Do You Have Thyroid Issues?
Take the Quiz and find out!
If left untreated, thyroid dysfunction can lead to serious health problems, including cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, weight gain, anxiety and depression. Early diagnosis is important.
Thyroid disease affects an estimated 20 million in the U.S. and more than 1 million Canadians. Up to 60 percent of those with thyroid disease are unaware of their condition. Women are five to eight times more likely than men to have thyroid problems. One woman in eight will develop a thyroid disorder during her lifetime.
The thyroid gland is a tiny gland, located in front of the windpipe, that regulates every organ in the body through its hormones. When it’s not functioning properly you know something is wrong. Unfortunately, you may not know you have a thyroid disorder. Often the signs and symptoms of thyroid disease can mimic many other conditions. Diagnosis may be clear only after several of the symptoms become apparent.
