Celery Juice for Constipation, Insomnia, Fatigue

Do you have any of these symptoms?

  • become easily confused
  • constipation
  • you crash mid-morning or mid-afternoon
  • depression
  • feel exhausted at night but are not able to fall asleep easily
  • feel tired all day but more energetic in the evening
  • forgetful
  • hoarse voice
  • insomnia
  • lack of energy
  • not feeling rested after waking from sleep
  • poor digestion
  • postpartum fatigue
  • rely on naps to get through the day
  • trouble completing basic tasks you once found easy
  • trouble concentrating
  • weakness
  • dark circles under your eyes

If you answered yes to even a few of these symptoms, chances are strong you have adrenal fatigue. Exhausted adrenals can affect other glands and organs including the brain, central nervous system, heart, thyroid, liver, and pancreas.

If you’ve had prolonged emotional or physical stress, your adrenal glands can get worn out. That’s when they start behaving erratically, like pumping out cortisol at night when you want to sleep. Or pumping it out in the wee hours of the morning waking you up, rather than in the morning when you need to be awakened with energy.

This adrenal exhaustion scenario is not unusual because our modern world is filled with demands from morning to night that put a lot of stress on our little adrenal glands. And we have two of them. One can get more stressed out than the other one, which can make it even more challenging to heal.

Our body pumps out adrenaline, no matter what the stressor. And adrenaline is hard on the body and is very addictive. Addiction makes it hard to really relax. When you have time off, you may be tempted to fill your time with activities that get the adrenaline pumping again to feed your adrenaline addiction. This keeps you in a spiral down scenario.

You Can Heal

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Drink 16 ounces of celery juice a day. Celery juice doesn’t taste all that great by itself, but you can add a splash of lemon to improve the taste. Do not dilute it and drink it on an empty stomach.
  • Eat no sweets or simple carbs. Sugars of all kind really stress out the adrenal glands. And carbs and starches that turn to sugar easily are almost as bad as sugar.
  • Eat a couple of small snacks a day in addition to your meals. Your adrenals need protein, so choose good protein sources such as grass-fed or free-range animal protein, nuts, seeds, avocado, grass fed collagen protein powder.
  • Dark green vegetables. Because they are mineral rich, they are very healing for the adrenals.
  • Take vitamin C and B complex. The adrenal glands use a lot of these nutrients when stressed.
  • Get extra sleep. You may need around 9 hours of sleep a night until your adrenal health improves. Sleep helps them heal.
