Juice Therapy for Cancer

Studies have shown that pomegranate juice can reverse the development of prostate, lung, and breast cancer. It’s rich in polyphenols. High doses of polyphenols shut down and prevent cancerous tumors by cutting off the formation of new blood vessels needed for tumor growth. The amount needed is equivalent to about 25 ounces (750 ml) of juice per day. (Polyphenols are commonly found in fruits, vegetables, and green and white tea.) Fresh pomegranate juice is always best because it has not been pasteurized. Commercially prepared juice requires pasteurization, which kills vital nutrients.

Todays Recipe

  • 1 handful watercress
  • 1 turnip, scrubbed, tops removed, ends trimmed
  • 3 carrots, scrubbed well, tops removed, ends trimmed
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 green apple such as Granny Smith or pippin

Bunch up watercress. Cut produce to fit your juicer’s feed tube. Tuck the watercress in feed tube and push through with the turnip. Juice remaining ingredients, finishing with a carrot. Stir the juice, pour into a glass, and drink as soon as possible.

Serves 1

    Thank you for sharing your wonderful knowledge and for creating the Juice Lady’s Guide to Juicing and Health. I refer to that book so often and found it extremely helpful when my husband had cancer and was treated with chemotherapy and multiple surgeries. I used your book to research remedies for any potential side effects from the drugs and I truly believe the daily juice I made helped to keep him well.

    I continue to juice for my family each morning and we are all very healthy. We haven’t met however you have impacted my life in such a positive way. Thank you Cherie – you are an incredible lady!!

  2. Call me skeptical of the practicality of this recommendation. Maybe if you added information about easy ways to extract seeds from the hulls and estimated how many pomegranates it would take to make 25 ounces of juice this article would have application. 25 ounces of juice daily is really a lot of juice, and a lot of pomegranates would be required. I don’t see it as economically feasible or time efficient to do on a daily basis.

  3. I have enjoyed the episode. My husband has lung cancer and previously been taking chemo which is making his body very weak. Trying to make sure he get healthy nutrition. we appreciate all the important info for natural treatment for cancer.

    I am curious how to juice pomegranates. Do you just juice them like everything else with the skin on?

  6. If a recipe calls for a half an apple, or half a cucumber, for example, how to your preserve the other half for later? It seems that once you cut it, you are exposing the insides to the air, and rapid deteriorization.

    I was just diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and thanks to you, want to start juicing but am so confused! My understanding is I should not consume sugar or carbs but yet the juicing recipes I read, include fruit and very few greens. I am beside myself trying to figure out the right foods to use as I don’t want to consume foods that will only hinder my situation further. I have so far listened to 8 days of Ty’s series and am so thankful to God for leading me down this path, learning about you, etc. I want to start juicing asap as well as cleansing and detoxing but am at a complete obliterating loss. your advice will be most welcomed…Blessings

      For cancer, you should not consume fruit juices. I have many recipes that have just greens and lemon or lime, which you can have. You should get my book The Juice Lady’s Living Foods Revolution. You might want to join my 30-day detox class that starts Monday, April 25.

  9. I watched The Truth About Cancer documentary, but did not hear much mention of leukemia. Most of the comments were directed toward tumorous cancers. Is there a jusice recipe you would recoment for the blood cancers?

    My wife has stage 4 colon cancer that had metastasized to her liver when we discovered it 41/2 years ago. It is now in her lungs. The colon tumor was removed. The liver his holding its own. I ordered Ty’s DVD set on TTAC.

    I am now awaiting your guidance.

    • I would recommend that she go to Optimum Health Institute in San Diego for 3 weeks. This is a juice and raw foods program. It would be a great kick off for her healing and recovery. Then she should keep juicing and following the raw food diet. She should have no sweets, coffee, alcohol, junk food, fried food, gluten, just eat mostly veggies and organic quinoa, and raw food dishes. Get my book The Juice Lady’s Living Foods Revolution.
